A sea change is happening in America when it comes to outsourcing public services to private entities. Sixteen states have now introduced legislation that would keep taxpayers in control of their services by increasing transparency and accountability.

This is a big deal.  And as ITPI’s take on a classic Facebook video shows, the shift is happening from coast to coast.  From Vermont to California, bills are being introduced to demand minimum cost savings is met, require financial transparency, and protect jobs with livable wages and benefits. And like Idaho’s decision to take back control of a privately run prison, lawmakers are also moving to insource public services.
