Department of Corrections - Prison Population Growth

This performance audit of the prison population growth in Arizona was conducted as part of the sunset review process and found that Arizona's prison population has grown significantly in the last 30 years. The audit makes recommendations to accommodate the expanding prison system and suggests that the State should further study the cost-effectiveness of privately operated prisons compared to state-operated prisons.
